A sword rang as it was drawn. "Do what you will; but I will hinder it, if I may."
" Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!"
Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed, and the clear voice was like the ringing of steel. "But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn am I, Éomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King

In the Lord of the Rings Adventure Game, you'll follow in the footsteps of all the great heroes of legend. As a mighty Elven Warrior or a deft Hobbit Scout, you'll enjoy hours of adventure in the magical, mythical world of J.R.R. Tolkien.

I have been role-playing for 20 years now (began in 1980.) I have never found an introductory rpg that I like more than LotR Adventure Game.

The rules are very simple, yet very elegant. A novice can pick up the game and begin playing within half-an-hour.

I am no great fan of Rolemaster, but I enjoy a game of MERP now and again. This game (LotR AG) is a great place to start for beginners; experienced gamers will like it too. It allows gamers to indulge in their hobby without being bogged down by hundreds of pages of manual.

For those that prefer exhaustive rules and regulations, stick with RM, but those that want a quick, fun adventure game, pick of the Lord of the Rings Adventure Game.
